When I first heard about Blissology, I thought the name sounded way cool and worth checking out. I am going to date myself now but with all the relationship books out there, I still think that John Grey summed it up best with the catchy title, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, but simple premise that “they” are different. That means Boys/Girls, Men/Women, and Brides/Grooms are going to think and react differently. Unfortunately when you add stress factors in a relationship, like wedding planning, moving in with a partner, dealing with challenging in-law situations, learning how to change personal finances to joint…those differences can sometimes cause conflict and stress in the relationship. Enter Blissology.
From what I can tell so far with Blissology is that it picks up from what John was trying to tell us and takes a modern day spin on what to do about it. Blissology takes the premise that the different sexes are going to react to stress differently, but that this stress can adversely affect the marriage Blissology uses a combination of brain (endorphins) and body (nonsexual touch) to diffuse, dismiss and devour the stress before it eats up your relationship. The roots of Blissology stem from yoga and meditation, but teach literally minute techniques to handle stress NOW!
Intrigued? I was too so I just signed up for a Blissology class. Oh and boys and grooms, don’t “pooh pooh” this one until you have tried it, because it sounds like you guys end up being the Hero in the Blissology class and then get the skills to help your Bride enjoy not only the wedding planning process but the rest of her life with Super Groom!
